![]() Update: January 18, 2002 (Click here to see previous updates) This update shows continued progress on several aspects of ELYSIUM. All of the hull framing is complete; engines, transmissions, fuel tanks, and hydraulic steering components are installed. Plywood decks have been laid. A few planks, including both garboards, have been replaced, all the new fastenings plugged, and the hull has been sanded fair. We've begun installing potable water and sanitation tanks and plumbing. We've laid out the coaming/cabin sides and have scarfed 2 mahogany planks together to make a single piece 32 feet long. The original trunk-house top has been temporarily positioned in order to fit the sides.
