Staff:
The nucleus of our crew has been with the yard since its inception over 25 years ago. This provides what owner Stanley Pendleton calls a "a long corporate memory." Over the years, the business has grown - and so has the size of the staff. During the spring outfitting and launching season, as many as 40 people are employed full-time as woodworkers, painters, mechanics, electricians, riggers, yard crew, and office staff. Many of our skills have been learned and developed at PYY, and many new ones brought here by employees.
Where We Are:
Pendleton Yacht Yard is located on Ames Cove, in Gilkey Harbor, Islesboro Maine. Islesboro is an island in Penobscot Bay, and is served by a state-operated ferry run to Lincolnville Beach - located between Camden and Belfast.
The ferry makes several round-trips daily, beginning at 7:30 am in Islesboro and ending with the last trip from Lincolnville Beach at 5 pm.

From a long line of seafarers, and on family land dating from the settling of Dark Harbor over two centuries ago, Stanley Pendleton and Pendleton Yacht Yard are proud to continue the downeast tradition for those at home and away.
Dark Harbor is home to a large summer yachting community, and for 25 years PYY has been providing quality services to the summer fleet as well as to cruising boats of all sizes and descriptions.
Our history gives us high regard for tradition and authentic construction, and for the community spirit which connects life-long skills to the preservation of the past.
Located in mid-coast Maine, we are convenient to Boston and the world.
